Schreiben: Das bin ich

Lesson · 3 rules · about 5 min

Write six true sentences about yourself, and have them corrected one by one.

  1. 1The verb is always the second idea
  2. 2heißen, sein, kommen, wohnen
  3. 3Every noun gets a capital letter
Why this matters

Your first piece of real German writing. Six short sentences are enough: your name, your age, where you are from, where you live, what you do, and one thing you like. You write them here in the box, and the app builds a correction request that carries your own text to your AI, which corrects what you actually wrote. Aim for 120 to 300 characters. Do not reach for words you have not met yet. A short, correct text scores better than an ambitious one full of guesses, and that is true at every level of this course.

Introduce yourself in writing, the way you would on a profile or a form: your name, how old you are, where you come from, where you live now, what you do, and one thing you like.

  • say your name with heißen or sein
  • say where you come from with kommen aus and where you live with wohnen in
  • say your age with sein
  • write every noun with a capital letter
  • keep the verb in second place in each sentence
