Every word the A1.1 exercises use, on one deck of flashcards: the nouns from the article and plural drills, the numbers, the family, the colours, the countries and the verbs. A noun is learnt with its article or not at all, so the write mode only counts "die Stelle", never "Stelle" on its own. Three ways to work through the deck: write the German, choose it from four options, or flip the card and rate yourself honestly. A word you miss comes back later in the same run, and stays in your "Weak words" list until you get it right three times in a row.
Article first, always
German nouns come in three genders and the article is the only reliable clue. Say der Tisch, die Lampe, das Buch as one word each; a bare noun is only half a word.

Learn the plural with the noun
The plural is shown after every correct answer. Read it aloud once: the pattern (-e, -en, -s, -er, umlaut) is what you are memorising, not just the word.
- der Apfel, die Äpfel the apple, the apples
- das Kind, die Kinder the child, the children
Names take no article
Countries, cities and letters are capitalised like nouns but stand alone: Berlin, Spanien, Japan. The exceptions with an article are die Schweiz, die Türkei, die USA.
- Ich komme aus Spanien. I come from Spain.
- Ich komme aus der Schweiz. I come from Switzerland.
How to remember it
- Never say a noun without its article — not even in your head.
- Miss a word? It comes back in the same run. Get it right three times and it leaves the weak list.
A1 Sprechen Teil 2 and Schreiben Teil 1 are built from exactly this vocabulary: introduce yourself, name things around you, give numbers and prices.
