Lesen: Eine E-Mail

Lesson · 3 rules · about 3 min

Read Marie's e-mail about her new flat twice: once to understand it, once to borrow its shape for your own reply.

  1. 1The e-mail frame
  2. 2weil vs deshalb in one text
  3. 3Flat words
Why this matters

A friendly e-mail from Marie to Tom about her new flat: the frame of every personal e-mail — Lieber Tom, … Viele Grüße — around a text that uses this module's grammar in the wild: weil with the verb at the end (three times), deshalb with the verb second, a superlative (am schönsten), the Perfekt (bin umgezogen, hat mir … gebracht), wenn, and two imperatives at the end (Bring … mit! Schreib … zurück!). Sooner or later you will answer a message like this yourself — so read it twice: once for the answers, once for the shape you will want to reproduce. Note where the reasons go and how the letter opens and closes.
