Why this matters
Eine Durchsage am Bahnhof mit etwa 150 Wörtern. Du hörst sie einmal, so wie auf dem Bahnsteig, hier mit der Stimme aus dem Lautsprecher. Durchsagen und Informationen für eine Gruppe gehören zum Nützlichsten, was du auf einer Reise verstehen kannst. Diese hier packt sechs Informationen in vier kurze Absätze: die Verspätung, ihren Grund, das neue Gleis (nicht Gleis vier, sondern Gleis sieben: Mit nicht … sondern korrigiert man etwas), was Reisende mit Anschluss tun sollen, wo heute die Fahrradplätze sind und was mit dem Speisewagen los ist. Durchsagen benutzen das Passiv (es sagt, was passiert, nicht wer es tut) und die höfliche Aufforderung mit Sie: Reisende … werden gebeten …; Getränke werden am Platz verkauft; Bitte beachten Sie … Hör auf die Zahlen und auf das Wort nach sondern und aber. Dort ändert sich die Information.
Translation
Attention, an announcement for passengers to Frankfurt am Main. The ICE 521 from Hamburg to Frankfurt, scheduled departure 10.15, is unfortunately running about twenty minutes late today. The reason is repair work on the line. Today the train will not leave from platform four but from platform seven. Please note the changed information on the display boards. The train will stop in Hanover, Göttingen and Kassel as planned. Passengers with a connection to Stuttgart are asked to listen to the announcements on the train in Frankfurt. The connecting train will wait for the ICE today. In addition, information for passengers with bicycles: today the bicycle spaces are not at the end of the train but in the front section, in coach 1. Unfortunately the restaurant car is closed today. However, drinks and small snacks will be sold at your seat. We will inform you immediately as soon as we know more. We ask for your understanding and wish you a good journey despite the delay.
