Presenter: Welcome to "Gesund leben", our podcast about healthy living. Today it is about stress. My guest is Dr Jonas Fischer, a doctor from Cologne. Mr Fischer, why do so many people feel stressed? Dr Fischer: Many people feel stressed because they work too much and sleep too little. Then there is the mobile phone: people still read e-mails late in the evening and never really get any rest. Presenter: What can our listeners do about it? Dr Fischer: Our tip: take a short break every day and get some fresh air. Switch your phone off an hour before you go to sleep. And do sport, because sport reduces stress. Even twenty minutes a day are enough. Presenter: Twenty minutes – that sounds doable. Does it have to be jogging? Dr Fischer: No, not at all. Walking fast or cycling is just as good. The only important thing is to do it regularly, ideally at the same time of day. Presenter: Many thanks, Mr Fischer. In the next episode we will talk about healthy eating.
